The first day of Spring saw us planting  trees on the Common, we had a team of willing volunteers and a plentiful supply of oak trees donated by Friends of the Earth

This year the Burgage Holders offered a service to recycle Christmas trees into wood chip for the paths on the common, there was soon a pile of trees waiting for attention when the word got out.

The New Year began with our new project on Bracken Hill by the Battery, as you will see from the pictures all the ground ivy and the self setting trees have been removed taking the area back to how it must have been when the Battery Tea garden was situated there in the early 1900s. …

A collage of what has been happening during  in November. The paths have had a new bark chip topping, we have a mobile storage shelter in the field (perhaps the Hullabaloo Bar too) and the “boys”  took no persuading to light the beacon on Bonfire night.

We had a bit of a tidy up in Riverside Road the sand had encroached on the foot path so with the help of the new tractor, Our Moor Grieve and a willing volunteer, Thank you Geoff, it is looking much tidier.

We are having to limit the number of camper vans/motor homes using the car park during the day this summer, there is simply no room for them, please be aware also that there is no overnight parking allowed and that the car park closes at 10 pm during August.  This is not an authorised overnight…
