Beach School

We are supporting Hipsburn School in their Beach School programme, they have come a long way since they began.  see below  lovely letters from the school and a link to learn more and stay up to date with their adventures.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Over the past two years our children have benefitted from more frequent visits to the local beach to enhance their learning. As a result, we are very keen to become an official Beach School and to use our beautiful location more to support the teaching and learning within our curriculum. To enable this, we have worked closely with Mudlarks over the last two years and with the new financial support of the Burgage Holders we are able to expand on the current programme of beach days. From January 2020 each class will have a minimum of six days at the beach over the year and our Pre-school will benefit from a minimum of three days. This will have a huge impact on our children and support their physical and mental health and well-being too.  Our children always return from their day at the beach happy, enthusiastic and tired! I thank you for helping to facilitate this positive enriched curriculum development and to the parents, carers, grandparents and governors who help us on these trips.  As a school we are very grateful to the Burgage Holders for their support.  Their donation will have significant impact on what we offer our children here at Hipsburn.
